Cineon has been recognised as one of three winners of the 2025 Jet2 Supplier Awards, presented during a ceremony held in 2026 at the Jet2 SkySuite in the company’s Leeds city centre office.

The Jet2 Supplier Awards have historically recognised up to eight partners each year. In 2025, however, Jet2 raised the bar for excellence and only three awards were presented.

Over the past two years, Cineon and Jet2 have worked in partnership to develop TACET Walkaround, a virtual reality training device that enables pilots to complete realistic pre-flight inspections in a safe virtual environment. The system uses eye tracking and AI to provide measurable feedback on attention, situational awareness and inspection performance.

TACET Walkaround has recently been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority as an Other Training Device (OTD), marking the first time a VR-based device has received approval from the CAA for use in regulated pilot training.

Recipients of the Jet2 Supplier Awards are recognised for delivering the highest levels of service excellence and for demonstrating one or more of the Jet2 core values: Taking Responsibility, Working As One Team, Being Present, and Creating Memories.

Cineon was one of three suppliers recognised in the 2025 awards cycle. Jet2’s recommendation summarised the partnership as follows:

“Cineon have been our software development partner for the VR walkaround project from inception, through the challenges of development, funding, testing and regulatory approval, and into deployment. The result is a product unique to Jet2, as the sole UK holder of a CAA approval for a VR device used in regulated pilot training. The device represents a significant enhancement to our legacy solution, providing pilots with an improved learning experience while delivering prompt and ongoing cost savings to the business. Cineon’s service and commitment have been exceptional, and we recommend them for an award.”

Toby de Burgh, CEO of Cineon, attended the ceremony to accept the award, which this year was uniquely crafted from one of Jet2’s decommissioned Boeing aircraft fan blades. He said of the award win.

“I’m incredibly proud of this award and our successful, growing partnership with Jet2. Cineon continues to lead in aviation training technology, delivering innovative solutions that enhance pilot safety, assessment and performance.”
