Cineon is seeking a passionate and driven Research Assistant to join our team as we develop our ELE technology.
About the Role
You will play a key role in implementing the data collection protocols used to produce robust empirical evidence for our immersive tools and products – supporting projects across healthcare, military, and aviation performance.
An interest in working with eye-tracking and behavioural data to help shape the future of training and therapy through Extended Reality (XR) and wearable technologies. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team including researchers and data scientists, you’ll contribute to cutting-edge research on the design, development, evaluation, and implementation of immersive technologies. Your meticulous data collection and processing work will directly inform our machine learning and data science initiatives, driving innovation in human performance and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the coordination of research and evaluation studies involving human participants.
- Conduct and lead data collection activities (including eye-tracking and behavioural data), ensuring strict adherence to established protocols.
- Assist researchers with literature reviews, horizon scanning, and study documentation.
- Contribute to high-quality reports, manuscripts, and documentation by summarizing data collection efforts and initial findings.
- Communicate data collection progress to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Represent Cineon at events, demonstrations, and conferences when required.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive Research Assistant who combines administrative precision with enthusiasm for emotion and psychological technology including immersive tech, AI, and wearables. You will likely hold an MSc or a BSc with relevant experience in a relevant discipline and have hands-on experience conducting human research studies under supervision.
Essential
- MSc or BSc in Psychology, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Cognitive Neuroscience or a closely related field
- Strong analytical, communication, and scientific writing skills
- Experience with human data collection and ethical research practices
- Familiarity with programming language (Python preferred) and data analysis tools (e.g. Python data stack, R)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
Desirable
- Experience managing and collecting large datasets for human research studies
- Familiarity with XR, VR, or AR environments
- Familiarity with wearable eye-tracking glasses
- Understanding of human performance and applied psychology
- Enthusiasm for research that bridges science and real-world application
