About the Role
Cineon is seeking an experienced Commercial Lead to join our growing UK technology start-up, backed by the South West Investment Fund.
This is a senior, hands-on role and you will be pivotal in shaping and executing our sales and go-to-market strategy while actively winning new business across aviation, defence, and healthcare sectors.
Working closely with the founders and leadership team, you will lead the full sales lifecycle while contributing to marketing activity such as positioning, messaging, and sales enablement. You will be supported by our Office Manager for administration and coordination, allowing you to focus on commercial growth and client relationships.
This role is well suited to an experienced sales professional looking for part-time flexibility without compromising on responsibility, impact, or strategic influence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the full B2B sales cycle, from lead generation through to deal close
- Identify and develop opportunities aligned with Cineon’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
- Proactively engage senior stakeholders through phone, email, LinkedIn, events, and outbound campaigns
- Pitch Cineon’s award-winning technology and lead discovery conversations to uncover client challenges
- Manage complex, consultative sales processes with multi-stakeholder organisations
- Handle objections, negotiate terms, and support contracting and procurement processes (with legal support)
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with clients and partners
- Meet or exceed agreed revenue targets and KPIs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system
- Plan and oversee participation in trade shows, conferences, and events, ensuring they align with sales objectives and generate qualified leads.
- Represent Cineon at industry events, meetings, and conferences when required
- Develop and execute marketing strategies that directly support sales goals and drive business growth, with guidance and resources provided by leadership.
- Monitor performance, manage marketing budgets, and provide clear reporting and recommendations to leadership.
- Contribute to the development of sales and marketing materials (presentations, proposals, case studies)
About You
We’re looking for a confident, self-motivated commercial professional who thrives in fast-moving, technology-led environments. You are comfortable operating both strategically and tactically and enjoy building something rather than stepping into a fully formed sales function.
Essential
- 5+ years’ experience in B2B sales within technology-led sectors
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Experience selling complex solutions into large organisations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including senior-level presentation skills
- High emotional intelligence (EQ) and the ability to adapt in dynamic environments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and deliver results
- Passion for innovative technology and its real-world application
Desirable
- Experience in one or more of the following sectors:
- VR, SaaS, software, healthcare, defence, aviation, or advanced technology
- Experience working with international clients and procurement teams
- Familiarity with long, consultative sales cycles
- Experience collaborating closely with technical, research, or product teams
- Interest in human performance, training, or safety-critical systems
