Cineon is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted as a finalist in two categories at the Tech South West Awards; Space & Aviation and Deeptech – recognising the impact of our work across immersive training and human-aware intelligence.
The Tech South West Awards celebrate the most innovative and high-growth technology organisations across the region, spotlighting the companies, founders, and breakthroughs shaping the future of sectors from aerospace and AI to healthcare, sustainability, and advanced engineering. The awards have become a key platform for recognising world-class innovation emerging from the South West tech ecosystem.
Space & Aviation category
In the Space & Aviation category, Cineon was recognised for TACET (Training Aircrew Competencies using Eye Tracking) – our immersive VR/XR platform combining real-time AI insights with performance data to transform pilot and crew training. TACET enables aviation teams to identify skill gaps, optimise learning pathways, strengthen decision-making and human factors awareness, and train faster, safer, and more efficiently under pressure.
Deeptech category
In the Deeptech category, Cineon was shortlisted for our Empathic Learning Engine (ELE) – our advanced API that interprets human behaviour to deliver real-time insights into emotional state, cognitive load, and task competency. Unlike traditional emotion-detection models that rely on facial expression or voice cues, ELE focuses on performance-relevant behavioural and physiological signals, detecting subtle shifts in focus, stress, confusion, or procedural drift. The system has been trialled and deployed across aviation, healthcare, defence, and energy, demonstrating measurable improvements in learning efficiency, performance, and safety outcomes.
