Cineon, a leader in immersive technology and human performance, is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with CERAP UK. A subsidiary of the CERAP Group, CERAP UK is a specialist in radiological risk prevention and nuclear consultancy.

This collaboration combines Cineon’s expertise in behavioural insight and immersive training with CERAP UK’s decades of experience in radiation protection and nuclear safety. The organisations will work together to enhance critical training for those operating in high-risk, high-reliability sectors such as nuclear, security and healthcare.
A key outcome of the partnership is the development and delivery of enhanced radiation awareness training. This includes programmes for Radiation Protection Supervisors (RPS), Health Physics Technicians and general Radiation Protection Awareness. Selected training modules include immersive AR and VR experiences, designed to deepen hazard awareness, improve decision-making under pressure, and strengthen knowledge retention.

Virtual Reality is the ideal method for training radiation protection as it can simulate invisible hazards accurately without risk to workers. Cineon has drawn upon its own deep knowledge in the sector to create the software, which includes realistic scenarios, a range of PPE and equipment, as well as modelling a variety of radiation sources.

“Our mission has always been to make training more human, more effective, and more aligned with real-world demands,” said Toby De Burgh, CEO of Cineon. “Partnering with CERAP UK allows us to bring that mission into the nuclear sector, working with a team that understands the critical importance of both safety and engagement. Together, we’re creating experiences that not only meet regulatory standards but help people retain knowledge and perform with confidence in high-stakes environments.”
“We chose to partner with Cineon because they bring a deep understanding of both human performance and immersive technology.” said Thibault Lemaire, CERAP UK. “Their approach allows us to deliver training that is not only technically robust, but also far more engaging for learners. By simulating real-world scenarios, we can improve understanding, increase hazard awareness and ultimately support safer outcomes for our clients.”
CERAP UK has been at the forefront of radiation protection since 1988, delivering services across the full lifecycle of nuclear facilities. Their involvement in major projects such as Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C reflects their operational excellence and innovation-first approach.
Together, Cineon and CERAP UK are developing future-ready training that not only meets industry regulations but actively raises the standard of radiological safety and workforce capability.
